Naviscan PET Systems develops and markets high-resolution, small-field-of-view PET scanners designed to help physicians and researchers diagnose and locate cancer, guide interventions, and advance new clinical therapies. Naviscan’s technology uses positron emission tomography (PET) scanning, which capitalizes on the fact that cancer cells metabolize a radiotracer faster than normal tissue. Potential applications include the diagnosis of breast and prostate cancer, evaluation of the efficacy of chemotherapy, minimally and non-invasive experimental treatments, and surgical margin evaluation. Naviscan PET technology’s imaging devices will provide the practitioner with the precise location and extent of cancer for guiding biopsy, surgery and other cancer treatments.
